Rudy's Lab Report
 

Saturday, January 6, 2007,  My offspring, Tyronne and Margo represented "Team Rudy" well at the Arctic Air Games Disc competition in Lewisberry, PA.  Ty finshed 1st in the Expert class Time Trial competition, 3rd in the Expert class Dart Board and even got second in the Beginner's Freestyle.... his first try at Freestyle.   Margo finished 2nd in Time Trial, 4th in Dart Board.  Ty won the blue ribbon as the top Big Dog of the day and Margo took home the ribbon as the second place Big Dog.   As I have officially retired, it's great to know that Team Rudy is alive and well!

Friday, Sat. & Sunday December 8,9 & 10, 2006,  Tyronne and his Jersey Devil Dog Flyball Teammates trekked to Fitchburg, MA to compete in the Weston Whirlwinds'  Blizzard of Paws Flyball Tournament.  On Friday evening they held single dog racing so dogs who wanted to enter could get their "true" running times.  As I understand it, in actual racing the only dog whose time is without any padding due to passing time (it's a long story) is typically the start dog in a heat.  Single dog racing gives all dogs a chance to be the "start dog".  Bottom line is the point of all this is to say that Tyronne set a Personal Best time of 4.124 seconds.  In the tournament on Saturday and Sunday the JDD had a BIG surprise.  In their first race and the first heat on Saturday the team ran a 19.7 for the first ever JDD sub 20 second run.  The only problem was that they had a breakout time of 20.5 so they lost the race.  They ran so well that weekend that they broke out 2 more times causing the team to be moved from first to last place.  Next tournament they will be ready and put in a much more realistic seed time for that team!

Wednesday, November 8, 2006,  This was a very sad day.  I was told by my friend Annie, that our mutual friend, Megan, an eleven & a half year old German Shepherd had passed away.   Megan was the kindest Shepherd I have ever met.  To quote Annie, "She was a great dog and will always be remembered."  We will miss you Megan!

  Monday, August 6, 2006   I became an Uncle of my new human niece, Emily.  Emily is also my daughter Margo's human sister.
