Saugerties, NY Catskill Classic - 10/3/99

Plf1 On Saturday (10/3/99) we traveled to lovely Saugerties, NY in the Catskill mountains for the 2nd annual Catskill Classic.  This Alpo sponsored event had been rescheduled from May of this year.   Although the turnout wasn't what was expected it was a terriffic day.

There were even trophy's which were engraved with the names of the winners after the event while we were watching freeflight demonstrations.  Two of the freeflight demonstrations were given by World Finalists (Gail Mirabella and Austin 1999, and Spirit and Johnnie McGuire 1998).  You could clearly understand why they were World Finalists.  

I'll be back again next year....I strongly urge everyone who can, to attend.    It will be held the first Saturday in October, 2000 (sounds odd doesn't it).    The weather we had this year was perfect.  It's a great time of year to play frisbee ........but then when isn't it a great time to play frisbee?

A great time was had by all.  My thanks to Phyllis and Johnnie McGuire who put on a really nice event.
