Leesport, PA FrisbeeDog Competition - 7/10/99

Plf1 On Saturday (7/10/99) We traveled to Leesport, Pennsylvaina for their annual Alpo Canine Frisbee Competition at the Berks County 4H facilities.  Unfortunately I got there extremely late......... everyone else had already finished competing.  After spending more than two and a half hours on the road, we arrived.  I only had a few minutes to reclaim all the trees that I had claimed last year and then we had to begin our first round.

I caught the first throw and returned it as usual.  After I caught the second throw I felt this terrible urge and spotted a tree that I didn't remember reclaiming yet so I took off after it.  Then who did I see but that very attractive Nellie Belle.  She's a very cute German Short-haired Pointer.  Naturally I had to say hello.  Then I spotted a gorgeous female black Lab (Tess?) that I had met in Philadelphia.  And of course I had to go say hello to her too!  Well evidenty the clock was still running ......but eventually I did get a couple more catches in that round.  After I finished round one we had a few minutes for me to do something the humans called rest.  What's rest anyway?

Then I had my second round which was much better.  Actually, for me, a perfect round, 6 throws at 6 points each.  Much better!  As soon as I finished, the awards were presented.   I wound up in 4th place (better than I had expected after my first round).   Next year we'll leave home a little earlier and get to Leesport in time for me to take care of all my familiarization routines.  Then I'll be able to concentrate.  ;-)

Following are the results:

points
1st AJ (  ?  ) and Ilene 74
2nd Rosie (Lab) and Tom  70
3rd Nellie Belle ( Ger Short-hair Pointer) and Peter 62
