On September 23, 2007 Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter was planning to honor my Dad, Rudy for his many years of service performing Frisbee demos at their annual Mutts Mania (originally Mutts Marathon) fund raiser. Unfortunately Dad passed away 2 weeks before their Pet Fair. So I went and performed the demo and received the Golden Frisbee award in his honor. Janice Huff, meteorologist from NBC TV New York was there to present the award. Janice was great and told us she also has a Labrador Retriever. I got a little anxious during all the talking and decided to grab the Frisbee tucked into Bob's shorts. After I performed my demo Janice posed for a couple photos with me. That was cool!
The folks at Mt. Pleasant are great, and I thank Nicole, Michelle and crew for the honor bestowed on my Dad.
Joe the photographer also presented us a large framed photo he had taken the previous year.... thanks Joe! Mt. Pleasant is a wonderful
shelter and I'm be proud to continue the tradition my Dad started at their events.
